Radiohead - Climatic Experts?

This just in from the BBC. Friends of the Earth "ambassador" Thom Yorke of Radiohead spurns a meeting with Tony Blair because Blair "has no environmental credentials".

Scary stuff, hard to make reasoned comment on, so I'll just leave it at that.

"It's up to people with pure integrity who know what they're talking about, like Friends of the Earth."

An interesting final comment from our Radiohead friend. I have always assumed that the touchstone for someone with integrity would be finding that they would be prepared to agree with an opponent if proper evidence was adduced.

Why is it that I think that Tim really means is: 'It's up to people with pure loyalty to the cause, like Friends ...'?

Thanks, anonymous, for your comment. You are quite right. the emotion of climate change tends to obscure logical thought processes. Good science requires an open mind. Those of us who have yet to be convinced of the dangers of anthropogenic global warming should always be available to be convinced otherwise - when we close our minds to good science we are also 'showing loyalty to the cause'.
